CANBERRA
The Governments of the British Empire, France, Italy, Japan and Greece, being of opinion that the coming into force of the Treaty of Peace and other Instruments concluded during the present Conference will necessitate the bringing into force of the Treaty concluded at Sèvres on 10 August 1920, between the Principal Allied Powers and Greece concerning the protection of minorities in Greece,[1] and of the Treaty relating to Thrace, also concluded on 10 August 1920, at Sèvres between the same Powers.[2]
The undersigned, duly authorised, agree as follows on behalf of their respective Governments:[3]
1. The ratifications of the two Treaties concluded at Sèvres referred to above shall, if they have not already been deposited at that date, be deposited at the same time as the ratifications of the Treaty of Peace and Instruments signed this day at Lausanne.
2. The provisions of Article 7, second paragraph, and of Article 15 of the Treaty at Sèvres referred to above concerning the protection of minorities, are and remain abrogated.
3. The application of the provisions of Article 1 of the Treaty of Sèvres referred to above relating to Thrace will be limited in accordance with the terms of Article 2(2) of the Treaty of Peace[4] signed this day.
