Beljo Hristo
Hristo Beljo was born in Bresnica, Kostur region, in 1934. At the time
of the Nazi occupation he was among the first from the village to join
the ranks of the EPON. At the start he was the secretary of the EPON
organization in his own village and later on he was elected a member
of the Kostur regional council of EPON.
After the Varkiza agreement he continued bravely to work illegally
in the regional council of EPON.
In 1947 he joined the ranks of DAG and participated in many battles
in Gramos, Voion, Vich and other places. On 20 September 1948 he was
wounded. After he got better, he was able to continue his battle operations.
On 2 January 1949 he was sent to the officer school in the headquarters
of DAG. And after that he served as a 2nd Lieutenant leading commander
in various units of DAG.
He died in a battle near Vrba on 14 August 1949.
